Roasted Tomatoes Bolognese Sauce This simple, thick, rich sauce is perfect over pasta or in lasagna! Bolognese, or "meat sauce" as I called it growing up in Oklahoma, is a rich and hearty sauce that combines ground meat with tomatoes, garlic and Italian. Pour tomato sauce into meat along with the can of tomato sauce and the sugar. Stir and bring to boil, then reduce to a low simmer and cook for few hours, stirring occasionally until the sauce thickens. Taste and adjust seasonings accordingly. I had to add in more salt.
